NBA Free Agency: Cavaliers not done yet?
When the news broke that the Cleveland Cavaliers had agreed to terms with free agent point guard Jarrett Jack, fans did not show anything but excitement for this Cavs squad. Jack brings a versatile game to this young core and completes the three guard combo like how Golden State ran their offense last year with Curry, Thompson and Jack. He is a floor general and has the veteran leadership to help put this team to the next level. He finished third in this years Six Man of the Year voting and he had a fantastic season averaging 12.9 points and 5.6 assists in almost 30 minutes MPG. With the uncertainly of Kyrie’s being able to be on the floor for 82 games, Jack fills the role of the back up point guard who can take this team over to produce offensively and defensively.
One free agent that can arguably be the boom or bust of this class is Andrew Bynum. Fans have been calling his name out since last years off season and were hoping we could acquire him in a trade due to Dwight Howard’s presence in LA.
Mark Stein of ESPN reported:
- “Team to watch in chase for Andrew Bynum: Cleveland. Hearing Cavs not only have legit interest but can also make lucrative one-year offer” @ESPNSteinLine
Andrew Bynum would be an awesome fit to the Cavaliers, if he can remain healthy for a full season which would include the playoffs. It would be a huge move and would immediately move them into playoffs talks. He is a big risk, but if he pans out, it could work perfectly for them in being able to make a bigger pitch at the King himself next year in free agenvy.
